His unwillingness to change causes him to lose out on all things important to him.
Nabawiyya

He as a café-owner, provides Said with a breather from his anger and the world at large which is closing in on him, yet in time even he cannot help him. After the incident with Rauf, Said goes to a café to see Tarzan. As soon as Said walks in, people started to recognize him and he feels right where he belongs. The reason why said was there was to get a gun, which he later uses to get his revenge on Ilish.

But when he thinks about his daughter Sana, he hopes that she would still remember him, therefore that thought makes him excited. As soon as he gets out of jail he decides to go to Ilish's house and a while later he meets up with his daughter which gave him a cold-shoulder and decides to leave.

She is now a prostitute and has lost all self-respect. She offers him food and shelter for however long he needs. as long as she feels wanted by the man she's loved for so long, she'll help to the best of her ability. She does not know that Said is hiding from the law for a murder, but she's so overwhelmed by his company, she does not think to ask.

The Sheikh
He is the most influential character in the story. He poses as the foundation which his family came from. Said knows that he can go to him for guidance. Although the relationship bewteen them is one with few words, Sheikh's opinion was valued by Said. He went to him because he had nowhere else to goand he needed to feel welcolmed. The Sheikh's advice is pretty straight to the point, and he treats Said as a parent would.
